DANVILLE JUNIORS SWEEP AVON, IMPROVE TO 3-0

The Danville Juniors defeated Avon Gold 14-2 in 5 innings & Avon White 13-2 in 4 innings to improve to 3-0 in season play. SP Jared Pike went all 5 innings against Avon Gold, allowing only 0 ER, 2 BB, & 10 K. In the Avon White game, SP Preston Heffernan was just as dominating, allowing 1 ER, 3 BB & 10 K. In the Avon Gold game, 1B Mike McLaughlin's deep 2-run triple to right in the Avon Gold game broke the game open, giving the Juniors a 5-2 lead, while Pike & OF JP Poppe both went 3-for-4 in the game. OF/C Daniel Church made a highlight catch in deep centerfield. In the Avon White matchup, IF Logan Wentz went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI. The team combined for 15 stolen bases in both games.
